The hoisting of the giant sized national flag marking the start of the national flag hoisting in conjunction with the 42nd National Day Celebration will be held this Saturday at the Open Area of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan. To ensure the smooth running of the ceremony, a full rehearsal was held on 12th February morning.

Present to witness the rehearsal were Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin bin Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary for Community at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports; Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education; and, Doctor Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The highlights of the ceremony will be the reading of the Brunei Darussalam National Day Pledge and the singing of patriotic songs. The theme of this year's celebration is "Bersatu Mencapai Cita Negara".
